In March 2020, Mars Wrigley selected B. Fernández & Hnos. as its distributor for the traditional channel in Puerto Rico. Even amid the pandemic we were facing, we managed to maintain business continuity and successfully transition.
B. Fernández kicked-off distribution of the Mars Wrigley portfolio: chocolates, sweets, mints, chewing gums, rice, and pet food. The sales model developed for the traditional channel consists of direct sales for confectionery and pre-sales for pet food and rice.
The traditional channel consists of more than 4,000 clients, including independent supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, gas stations, agro-centers, pharmacies, cash & carries, discount stores, cinemas, bakeries, and candy stores, among others.
In compliance with our quality standards, the B. Fernández sales fleet has a refrigerated area to guarantee optimal product delivery conditions. Currently, we have more than 40 routes dedicated to the traditional channel.
